Software Developer (Mitchell, SD; Rapid City, SD; Off-site)

Martin Group has immediate openings for full-time Software Developers. These positions may be filled in either the Mitchell or Rapid City, South Dakota offices; or based on experience and qualifications, a qualified candidate may work out of a home office. This is a highly technical position with responsibilities in application development and maintenance. Qualified candidate must have the ability to produce high quality code for complex business solutions and the ability to communicate to co-workers and clients at technical and non-technical levels. Candidate should have good customer service skills and must be able to manage projects from beginning to end. Ideal candidate is self-directed, innovative, organized, flexible, and has the ability to maintain high quality standards.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and design programs utilizing one or more of the required programming languages listed below.
• Participate in the requirements, design, coding, review, and testing phases of the software development process.
• Perform unit level testing for all software written and assist quality assurance and other teams with test plans and testing for system integration, performance and scalability.
• Design, develop, test, and document conversion tools as well as validate incoming and converted data.
• Ability to travel by car and/or plane, may include weekend travel.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor or Associates degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Strong knowledge in one or more of the following programming languages: VB6, VB.NET, C#, C++.
• Experience with Windows XP and 2003 Server operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 database.
